Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 10 June 2026
1. Who we are
Rung ("Rung", "we", "us") is operated by [Operator name / sole trader], of [registered/trading address], England. You can contact us at rung@rung-app.com. These terms govern your use of the Rung website and service (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these terms.
2. Eligibility & account
You must be at least 18 to use the Service. You agree to provide accurate information, keep your login secure, and you are responsible for activity on your account. Tell us promptly at rung@rung-app.com if you suspect unauthorised use.
3. The Service — guidance, not advice
Rung provides salary benchmarks, career insights and AI-generated coaching content drawn from public UK labour-market data and your inputs. All figures and outputs are estimates and general guidance, not financial, legal, career or other professional advice. We do not guarantee their accuracy, completeness, or any particular outcome (such as a pay rise or job). You are responsible for decisions you make. The Service is provided "as is" and may change or be unavailable from time to time.
4. AI-generated content
Some content is produced by AI and may be inaccurate or incomplete. Treat it as a starting point, verify anything important, and do not rely on it as a sole basis for significant decisions.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to: misuse the Service; scrape, bulk-export, resell or redistribute our data; reverse-engineer or attempt to access it other than through the provided interface; upload unlawful or infringing content; or do anything that disrupts or compromises the Service or other users.
6. Subscriptions, billing & cancellation
Pro is a paid subscription billed in advance through our payment processor (Stripe) at the price shown at checkout (currently £8.99/month) plus any applicable taxes. It renews automatically each period until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from Account → Subscription → “Manage subscription” (a Stripe billing portal where you can also change payment details and download invoices). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period, and we do not provide refunds for the current period except where the cooling-off right below applies or the law otherwise requires. Your AI usage is subject to the allowance shown in your plan.
Immediate access & your 14-day cancellation right. Rung is digital content/services capable of immediate supply. At checkout you choose: if you tick the optional box requesting immediate access, you expressly consent to the Service beginning straight away and acknowledge that you lose the statutory 14-day right to cancel under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 once the Service has begun. If you do not tick that box, you keep your 14-day cancellation right: you may cancel within 14 days of purchase for a full refund by emailing rung@rung-app.com or using the billing portal. See our Refunds & Cancellation policy.
Your statutory rights (Consumer Rights Act 2015). Where the Service is digital content, it must be as described, fit for purpose and of satisfactory quality. If it is faulty you may be entitled to a repair or replacement, and where that is impossible or unsuccessful, to a price reduction (which can be up to the full amount paid). Nothing in these terms affects those rights.
Complaints. If something has gone wrong, email rung@rung-app.com with "Complaint" in the subject line — we aim to acknowledge within 2 working days and resolve within 14. If you remain unhappy you may pursue the dispute through the courts of England & Wales (clause 11), and nothing prevents you using any applicable alternative dispute resolution service.
7. Intellectual property
We (and our licensors) own the Service, its software, design and underlying data. You keep ownership of the content you submit (e.g. your CV and profile) and grant us a licence to host and process it to provide the Service. You may use outputs for your own personal, non-commercial career purposes.
8. Limitation of liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law (including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud). Subject to that, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, opportunity or data, and our total liability to you is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. The Service is not a substitute for professional advice.
9. Suspension & termination
You can stop using and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these terms or to protect the Service or other users. On termination your right to use the Service ends; your data is handled per our Privacy Policy.
10. Changes
We may update these terms; we'll post the new version with an updated date. For material changes we will email subscribers in advance and ask you to review and accept the new version in the app before you continue using the Service. If you don't agree with a change you can cancel at any time before it takes effect (clause 6).
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England & Wales, and the courts of England & Wales have exclusive jurisdiction. Nothing affects your mandatory rights as a consumer.
